Case study - Catchment Hydrology and Sustainable Management (CHASM)
timeview.net is used as part of the CHASM project operated by Newcastle University on the River Eden at Appleby in West Moorland.
CHASM is a national framework for a long-term programme of catchment research that presently involves UK universities, research institutes and end-user organisations, and is led by the University of Newcastle. In addition to the Eden catchment, the project involves three catchments in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
A ChannelMaster ADCP measures river velocity, stage and temperature then using velocity index method, a flow is derived. This data is then displayed on timeview.net for further processing and analysis.
